The following are the 2021 Orange Show Speedway rules for each of the series:

2021 Pro Late Model Rules UPDATED

1. BODY and CHASSIS – Any traditional late model type perimeter or straight rail chassis is allowed. Body must be a factory stock Five Star or AR pavement style body, body must be mounted in a stock manner as it was intended from the manufacturer, no extra panels may be used to extend the body in any way, hood must cover the air cleaner with no holes other than a small opening at the windshield for air to the carburetor, complete rear bumper cover must be used with no holes drilled in it, no extra material may be removed from the rear bumper cover, rear spoiler must be mounted in the stock location. Maximum quarter panel height is 34.5”.
No under body air deflectors or wings of any kind. Teams are allowed to mount two ½” tall roof rails running front to rear on the roof of the car, but these rails are not allowed to extend down the rear window or onto the deck lid. No passenger windows are allowed, maximum for the vent window along the top of the door will be 12 inches and must go 90 degrees from the top of the door up to the A-post. No fans, ducts or hoses to the rear brakes or tires, no holes or hoses are allowed through the interior sheet metal. Ride height rule; all cars must be able to get on and off the inspection scales without the use of any extra ramps or boards and the car must not drag on the scales, if your car drags on the scales you will not pass tech and will be forced to return to your pit area for corrections.
Rear Spoiler may be no wider than 60″ and no taller than 6 1/2″. Spoiler must be centered on the rear bumper cover and may not be offset in any direction. There may be NO forward support of any kind, no boxed ends or runners. No Gurney lip, or any type of wicker bill on the upper edge of the spoiler. It is mandatory that the Upper 2/3’s of the spoiler and the rear window of the car be made of “clear” lexan to enable other drivers to see through them.
2. ENGINES – Any cast iron block wet sump engine allowed. The only rule on the open engine is that it must be a wet sump engine with only a single 4bbl carburetor allowed. The open engine straight rail chassis is 3,075lbs and a maximum of 58% left side weight. Maximum RPM for the open engine is 7,600 and cars must run a 7,600 RPM chip you may use the FAST/Crane ignition box part # 6000-6700 and coil part #730-0192.
602 CRATE ENGINE CARS straight rail chassis are to be a minimum of 2,875lbs total weight and a maximum of 60% left side weight. Maximum RPM for the 602 crate engine is 6,200 and cars must run a 6,200 RPM chip you may use the FAST/Crane ignition box part # 6000-6700 and coil part #730-0192. 602 engines must remain OEM from factory and may be either GM factory sealed break off bolt seals or new style GM factory seals. All crate engines may be removed for inspection at any time after an event, especially if they are the old style break off bolt seals. 604 CRATE will add 50# from 602 rules and 58% left side weight, must have factory seals or will be considered as an open engine, must use 7200 rpm chip.
CT525 crate engine with an aluminum block will be allowed and will be the only aluminum block allowed. The CT525 will be treated as an open engine at the 3,075lb weight with a maximum of 58% left side weight with both the straight rail or perimeter chassis, the engine set back is 2” to the center of the forward most spark plug to the center of the upper ball joint on the same side and left side weight for the CT525 is 58%, all CT525 cars must bolt 40 pounds of weight to the front clip (20 pounds on each side after the kick up just behind the front cross member). CT525 cars may also bolt the 40 pounds to the engine block via a weight belt. CT525 cars must run a 6,800 RPM MSD rev chip. Any single 4bbl carburetor allowed.
TOUR CAR PACKAGE/DRY SUMP ENGINE CARS – Not allowed.
The engine set-back rule is 2″ back for all open engines (the center of the forward most spark plug hole to the center of the upper ball joint on the same side). Maximum engine set-back for the 602 crate engine is 6″ measured the same way. Any single 4bbl carburetor allowed on all engine packages. NOTE, All stock type steering box cars with stock type lower a-arms (cars without rack and pinion) with 5″ or bigger diameter springs on the front suspension will receive a 30 pound weight break off all engine and chassis combinations.
When scaling, the steering wheel will be firmly attached to the steering column. Drivers will have both hands on the steering wheel.
*50# weight break for perimeter chassis on all engine combos.
All vehicles submitted for competition must have weight and left side % posted in 1” letters on passenger side B pillar in a position for tech official to read while on scales. It is the driver’s responsibility to know their legal weight, if you post the incorrect weight for your race car you will be disqualified and receive no points or money.
3. TIRES AND WHEELS – Tires are the American Racer AR970 treaded tire. ALL tires MUST be purchased from the track, and tires MAY NOT be cut, soaked or altered in any way. Any team wishing to run used tires must submit the tires for inspection and scanning prior to qualifying, note these used tires must have been purchased from Orange Show as well. 6 tires may be purchased on opening night, with 2 tires available at each race thereafter. Cars failing to make opening night will be able to purchase 4 tires at their first race. Wheels must be steel and not exceed 8″ in width. Competitors must start the race on the tires they qualified with. No tire bleeders allowed.
4. SUSPENSION – Minimum wheel base is 101″, rear wheel drive cars only. Any steel shock, all external parts must be steel (Aluminum rod end on the shaft end ok, and an aluminum thread in body cap on the shaft end is ok). One shock per wheel, no remote adjusters or reservoirs of any kind may be used on a shock. REAR SUSPENSION – No fifth (5th) coil, torque arm or lift bar suspensions will be permitted. No bird cages of any kind (3 or 4 link). Trailing arms must mount to the rear end and chassis in a solid manner (heim allowed). No springs, sliders, rubber biscuits allowed on any of the rear trailing arms. Truck arm suspensions will be approved on a race by race basis. Any non-traditional rear suspension layouts will be approved on a race by race basis.
All wet sump cars will not exceed 68″ inch track width, it will be measured from the inside lip to the outside lip of the front tires at the spindle height. Track width on tour car/dry sump cars must not exceed 67″ it will be measured from the inside lip to outside lip of the front tires at the spindle height. No independent rear suspension.
5. No traction control devices. Only one ignition box allowed and ignition box will be mounted as far to the right side of the car as possible with the chip or RPM dial facing the right side. All wires to the distributor must be run separately and not be part of a bigger wiring harness. All wiring must be sealed with no unplugged wires.
6. FUEL – All cars must run the track spec fuel. The track spec fuel is Sunoco 110 Purple race fuel. Sunoco E- 85R race fuel 602 only.
7. Drive shaft, NO carbon fiber drive shafts allowed.
8. SAFETY – Approved seat belts and double shoulder harness and a crotch strap is required, no older than five years. A full-face helmet required with a 2010 (recommended 2015) Snell sticker. SFI rated full driving suit and gloves for fire protection mandatory, SFI undergarments are recommended. Driver’s window must be equipped with a safety net and quick release latch of minimum size 22” wide by 16” high. Resilient padding must be installed anywhere the driver can reach on roll bars. All cars must have a clearly marked electrical cut off switch easily accessible to the safety crew.
Note, the following infractions will result in a firm penalty which could include a LIFETIME ban from the track.
A. Being caught with traction control.
B. Bypassing the RPM limiting control device in any way.
C. Altering the American Racer AR970 tire, such as soaking the tire, or cutting the tire. Tires are to be a stock AR970 tire.
D. If you are caught cheating the fuel in any way, the Sunoco fuel must be stock, and must not have ANY additives whatsoever.
Illegal components may be confiscated by Orange Show Speedway and become property of the speedway.
Two-way communication is mandatory in the late model division.

2021 Pro-4 Rules UPDATED

No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of OSS racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.
No pretense is made for having designed a foolproof set of rules and regulations. The spirit and intent of the rules is the standard by which OSS events will be governed. The OSS Tech Director is authorized to decide if an equipment change or modification is an attempt to circumvent these rules. The OSS Tech Director can and will disqualify a race car in violation of the spirit and intent of these rules. If this rulebook does not specifically state that you can alter, change, or otherwise modify something on you car, you should consider it a violation of these rules. No part is deemed to have been approved by OSS by passing through prior technical inspections.
The Tech Director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the Tech Director. His decision is final.
These rules are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. All participants, guest and crew members fully understand that racing is inherently dangerous and that they are exposed to risks of death or serious bodily injury. The participants, guest and crew members voluntarily assume these risks.
COMPETING MODELS AND BODIES- Any ABC Body style Fiberglass or Aluminum . Hood and deck lid pins required. 6 1/2”x60” rear spoiler top 2″ clear lexan. No outlaw style bodies.
BUMPERS- Tubed bumpers must not extend outside of body with no sharp edges.
WINDOWS- Windshield and rear window made of Lexan may be used. Minimum thickness is 1/8 inch. Windshields must be supported between the dash bar and the roof halo bar with a minimum of two (2) evenly placed metal straps 1/8 inch by 1 inch or a single 1.5 inch bar in the center of the windshield welded to the dash bar and the roof halo bar. Wire mesh minimum .5” allowed. , rear side Lexan windows permitted. Driver side window net is required on all cars. Net material must be minimum 1 inch wide and have openings of at least one (1) inch. Net must be equipped with a quick-release device on the top left corner. Mirrors ok.
FRAMES- Full NASCAR type roll cages mandatory. Bars must be a min. of 1 1/2” O.D. X .090” wall thickness, gusset as necessary for strength. Minimum of three (3) door bars required on both sides. Right side can be straight. Fuel cell protector required, no more than the width of the frame rails. Full tube chassis with 2×2 090 wall Minimum frame rails straight or offset chassis ok.
WEIGHT, WIDTH AND WHEELBASE- Min. weight 2100 lbs. Maximum left side weight 59%, Front tire width will be measured at spindle height NOT TO EXCEED 77” outside rim lip to outside rim lip. All lead must be securely fastened to frame using (2)-1/2” bolts or enclosed in a rail with ends secured to prevent loss or movement of weight. All lead must be painted white and have car number printed on it. No lead is not to be mounted behind or on to the rear end housing, as well as, no further forward than the motor. Any lost lead will be subject to fine of a minimum $10 per lb lost. Tech will measure from spindle height inside rim to outside rim/ that will be 67” for you at home with toe plates 77” is rim lip at bead not outside tire. All vehicles submitted for competition must have weight and left side % posted in 1” letters on passenger side B pillar in a position for tech official to read while on scales. It is the driver’s responsibility to know their legal weight, if you post the incorrect weight for your race car you will be disqualified and receive no points or money.
ENGINE- As of right now Ford 2300,or 2000 motor only. No titanium parts. Steel rods only. Stock length rods ok. Only 5.7 aftermarket rods produced by Manley or Esslinger allowed. 10.0 to 1 max compression ratio. Engine oil coolers allowed. No dry sump oiling. Aftermarket oil pans, valve covers, water pump, fan pullies are allowed. Heads: Stock heads only. A stock head will be characterized as a cylinder head which was offered as standard equipment with no performance advantage. Stock for year, make and model 2 plug head add 50 lbs. No special performance options will be allowed, including but not limited to, oversize valves, special cut valves, relocated intake or exhaust bowls or ports. Stainless steel valves approved. No porting or polishing will be allowed. No roller rockers on the valve. side or cam side permitted. Max. cam lift is .480” measured at the valve. No billet camshafts. Cast iron camshafts only. 2302 cc max. plus max. overbore .060” Engine Blocks: Stock blocks only. No modifications allowed. Stock stroke for engine being used. No Teflon coated parts. Stock lifters only. Solid lifters permitted. Stock type timing belt only.No titanium parts allowed. (call for approval)
CARBURETOR- Stock Holley list 7448, 350 cfm carb only. Must remove choke butterfly plate, shaft and linkage. No other modifications allowed. No VDL, CARB shop or any other aftermarket re-worked carbs allowed. 2 carburetor return springs required must be mounted to engine block. Any unmodified OEM intake manifold, no turbo intakes, and max 1” thick carb spacer or adapter. No vacuum leaks
AIR CLEANERS AND FILTERS- No cold air induction allowed, K&N air filters are allowed. No air deflector allowed on front. Air filters only. Top and bottom of air cleaner must be same diameter. Tubes, funnels, or any device which may control the flow of air, will not be permitted inside the air cleaner or between filter housing and carburetor.
ENGINE MOUNTS- All mounts must be securely bolted and adjustable mounts are not permitted. Engine setback rule is 4” from the centerline of the lower control arm heim joints to the front oil pan seal lip.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM- Stock ignition only. No performance after market distributors, components, or magnetos allowed. No msd, or dui components allowed. No traction control. All cars must be equipped with a master electrical switch located in the cockpit of the car. The switch must be within reach of the driver and safety crew from the left side of the car, switch must shut off car. Batteries must be securely mounted within the confines of the body and behind the driver, in front of the rear axle and contained in electrically insulated container. No marine or plastic type boxes allowed.
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM- Stock or electric fans are permitted must have shroud.
Water overflow catch can unit required. One (1) quart minimum, vented out to windshield, metal or plastic, mounted in engine compartment. No anti-freeze or similar products. This is a finable offense. Water Wetter ok.
ENGINE EXHAUST SYSTEMS- Any Stock OEM cast exhaust manifold, steel or stainless steel headers are approved. No aluminum or coated headers. An approved muffler is mandatory, must not exceed 95 db @100 feet. Exhaust must extend past driver’s compartment and remain under car. Exhaust may exit on passenger side of race car in front of right rear tire. 3″ max exhaust pipe.
DRIVE TRAIN- Stock style clutch and flywheel for model being used only. Clutch disc must contain all magnetic steel parts. Stock steel OEM or after-market steel billet flywheel. Aluminum flywheels are allowed. Min. weight of the flywheel is 10 pounds. Steel scatter shield mandatory. Track scales will be official. Stock type transmission only. No modifications. All gears must be operable including reverse. Steel locked, limited slip, or positive-traction differentials are permitted. Rear end must be centered in car. Steel Floater type rear ends are permitted. Quick change rear ends allowed. Any OEM steel rear end allowed. 2 driveline straps, 1” x 1/8” required, mounting to be within 6” of the U-Joints are required on rear drive vehicles. Steel Drive shaft must be painted white and have car number for on track visibility in the event it should become separated from the car. No cambered or toe in rear ends.
SUSPENSION AND BRAKES- Coil over shocks with a shelf value of no more then $200 per corner, no adjustable valving shocks will be permitted, no bump stops or coil bound aloud will result in DQ if your springs will fully compress before frame touches ground, All Shocks will have a claim rule of $200 per corner no exceptions. This rule will eliminate guys spending money on shocks. Brakes 4 wheel disc allowed aftermarket pedals and wildwood calipers with no more then $200 each caliper. Brake bias allowed in car within driver reach. No adjustable suspension parts in reach of driver during competition.. car must recover to clear ride height rule under its own. No lifting or jacking car up. Car will be required to clear 2.5” ride height. If your car won’t recover to ride height on its own automatic DQ.
STEERING COMPONENTS- Stock steel OEM steering components or after market racks allowed. Quick release steering wheels are required. Steering column must be collapsible. U joints are acceptable.
FUEL SYSTEM- Pump fuel only or track race fuel only. No additives, octane boost, or methanol. No cheater fuel of any kind. All cars must be equipped with an approved fuel cell, securely mounted in the trunk area as far forward as possible. Minimum 5” ground clearance. Fuel cell must be mounted with steel framework (1 inch x 1/8 inch minimum) and must have a vent hose and the hose must have a check valve in the end. Fuel cell must be totally enclosed in an 18 gauge steel box with a ½ inch drain hole in the lower right rear corner. Ground strap required from fill neck to frame. Tethered cap. Maximum fuel capacity 22 gallons. If the fuel line runs through the drivers compartment it must pass through a metal tube sealed at both ends and brightly marked “do not cut fuel line”. Must have fuel cell protection bar.
TIRES AND WHEELS- Steel and aluminum wheels are allowed, max 10” width x 13” any offset. Tire and wheel must stay inside of fender and quarter panel. Stock type after-market long wheel studs allowed and recommended. All studs must have threads showing through the lug nut. No Bleeders. Wheel spacers and wheel adapters allowed. American racers purchased from Billy Mccray. 4 tires first race 2 tires second race and 1 tire every race after that. If your first race is in the middle of the season you will get 2 take off tires and 2 new tires. Your only allowed to put 1 sticker tire on every race you run after the 2 race. No banking tires to put four sticker tires on. You can purchase tires for practice and practice only. If we have any issues tires will be held in tech till qualifying.. you must identify tires your using for the race.
Seats and Safety Equipment- For all safety equipment. It will be the sole responsibility of the driver, not OSS, their agents/officials or corporate officers to ensure that his/her safety equipment is correctly installed, maintained, and properly used. Please refer to manufacturer installation and usage guide lines and adhere to them. Aluminum professionally built high back racing seat required. No plastic, etc. Padded headrest required. Seat must be securely bolted to a mount assembly that is an integral part of the roll cage. 6 bolts min no smaller than 3/8” diameter bolts. A five (5) point safety harness, with quick release is mandatory! 3” wide lap belt, 2” or 3” shoulder belts, and a 2” submarine belt. All belts shall be attached to roll cage using minimum 3/8 grade 8 hardware and safety cables. Loop around belts ok. Cotton harness components prohibited. Safety harnesses/seat belts may be no more than three (3) years old. Must have manufacture date. Snell SA2010 or SA2015 helmet required. Full face helmets with Lexan face shield recommended. Nomex helmet, skirt, and Nomex covered chinstrap highly recommended. A HANS or Hutchens type head and neck restraint device is strongly recommended; minimum of a neck roll required. Window net mandatory! Minimum 1” webbing with release at top only. It is required that all window net releases be updated to the quick release seat belt type with releases located and facing the outside of the car. No close mesh off-road type allowed. Fire suit mandatory at all times. Two layer one piece suit recommended. Two piece suit ok. Single layer proban suit ok with nomex underwear. Approved racing gloves mandatory. No welding gloves, gardening gloves, etc. Approved racing shoes mandatory. Eye protection is mandatory and must be in proper place at all times. Current test date (2 pound minimum) fire extinguisher to be installed in the car within drivers reach while strapped in. Steel mounts only, no plastic. All cars will be required to have in their pits a minimum of one five pound, Halon or dry chemical fire extinguisher. This is to be visible to tech officials and all crewmembers. All crew members must be made aware of this location, and knowledgeable in the use of the fire extinguisher. Car and driver will be required to make safety rule violations comply PRIOR to racing any event. The use of a two-way radio with a spotter and/or pit crew is mandatory. OSS official radio frequency is 462.6750. It is highly recommended that all racers monitor this frequency during all races. This will speed up getting cars lined up during yellow flags.
APPEARANCE AND IDENTIFICATION- All cars are to be neatly and brightly painted. Numbers will be a minimum of 18” on the roof and both door panels. Numbers on the roof to face toward scoring tower (flag stand). No aluminum foil type lettering. Numbers assigned to car will be displayed on the top right front of windshield, 3” minimum. Drivers first and last name to be placed above each door, on the roof in 3” letters minimum. No duplication of numbers, additional letters such as “X”, “Y”,“and N” are not to be used. Advertising or names on the windshield is not permitted. This will be reserved for a series sponsor. Advertising that is deemed to be unsuitable/offensive, will not be allowed. Decision of OSS Tech Director will be official. Series sponsor decals, if any, must be placed on designated location of car to be eligible for awards. This is to be completed PRIOR to competing in any event.
ELECTRONICS- No electronic monitoring computer devices capable of storing or transmitting information except tachometers. No digital gauges, timing retard controls or oxygen sensors allowed. No electronic traction control devices allowed.
Rules can be changed or altered at any time if deemed necessary to provide even competition. If it’s not in these rules it’s illegal.

2021 OSS Street Stock Rules

BODIES- Any American 2 or 4 door hardtop car produced with a min. 108″ wheelbase. Vehicles with stock wheelbase between 101 and 107 add 100 pounds. (for ex. 1984 and up Mustangs and Camaros) No Pick-Ups, Jeeps, etc. All cars must maintain stock OEM body for year, make and model. Stock appearing fabricated steel door panels, quarter panels, and deck lids are approved. Hood and deck lid pins required. Full stock or fabricated steel floorboards and firewalls required in stock location. Fabricated firewalls add 50 lbs. Fabricated floor boards add 50 lbs. Rear trunk area may remain open. 5″ x 60″ rear spoiler centered on body top 3″ clear lexan. Fabricated rear clips add 50 lbs. (not to exceed the center of the rear end). Minimum 4″ Body to the ground with driver in car after the race. Stock appearing Fiberglass or Aluminum front ends allowed. Steel or fiberglass roof ok. Any full fiberglass bodied cars are subject to 50lb penalty and loss of 1% left side weight. Dirt style bodies with open rear panels above and below rear bumper approved. Any other body combinations must be approved by tech officials before competition.
BUMPERS- Stock or fabricated bumpers are required. Front and rear bumper must be fastened to the fender and or quarter panel.
WINDOWS- A windshield made of Lexan may be used. Minimum thickness is 1/8 inch. Windshields must be supported between the dash bar and the roof halo bar with a minimum of two (2) evenly placed metal straps 1/8 inch by 1 inch or a single 1.75 inch bar in the center of the windshield welded to the dash bar and the roof halo bar. (Screen wire mesh windshield approved.) Clear Lexan rear window and B pillar window ok. Driver side window net is required on all cars. Net material must be minimum 1 inch wide and have openings of at least one (1) inch. Net must be equipped with a quick-release device on the top left corner. Mirrors ok.
FRAMES- Full NASCAR type roll cages mandatory. Bars must be a min. of 1 1/2” O.D. X .090” wall thickness, gusset as necessary for strength. Minimum of three (3) door bars required on both sides. Right side can be straight. Engine may be no further back than 1″ ahead of the Upper ball joint on the #1 Spark Plug, centered in the chassis. Fuel cell protector required, no more than the width of the frame rails. Main roll cage uprights must be fastened to floor of uni-body cars with a minimum 3/16” thick plate, top and bottom, at all four corners. Plate must be a minimum of 4” square, with (4); 3/8” grade 8 bolts at each location. Roll bar padding must be used at any point where driver may make contact. Door bars must be covered with a 1/16” thick steel metal plate, top to bottom, from front and rear uprights, welded to outside of bars. Stock frames only. No modifications allowed. Oil pans and exhaust must have a minimum of three (3) inches of clearance with the driver in the car.
HEIGHT, WEIGHT, AND WHEELBASE- Min of 4″ of ground clearance at anytime before or after the race no waiting for the shocks to release and no assistance from crew or driver wheels straight ahead. Min Wheelbase over 110″ wheelbase must weigh a minimum of 3,100 lbs. All vehicles submitted for competition must have weight and left side % posted in 1” letters on passenger side B pillar in a position for tech official to read while on scales. It is the driver’s responsibility to know their legal weight, if you post the incorrect weight for your race car you will be disqualified and receive no points or money. All lead must be securely fastened to frame using (2)-1/2” bolts or enclosed in a rail with ends secured to prevent loss or movement of weight. No lead is not to be mounted behind or on to the rear end housing, as well as, no further forward than the motor. All lead must be painted white and have car number printed on it. Any lost lead will be subject to fine of a minimum $10 per lb lost.
ENGINE- Cylinder compression limited to 200 lbs. Ford 351 C.I. Chevrolet 350 C.I. Dodge 360 C.I. Plus max .060 overbore Maximum cubic inch 360. 10.5 to 1 max compression ratio. Engine coolers allowed. Aftermarket oil pans, valve covers, water pump, fan pullies are allowed. No “stroker” or lightweight cranks allowed, factory OEM cranks only. Heads: Stock cast iron heads only. A stock head will be characterized as a cylinder head which was offered as standard equipment with no performance advantage. Vortec Head ok. No angle plug heads. No special performance options will be allowed, including but not limited to, oversize valves, special cut valves, relocated intake or exhaust bowls or ports. 1.25 inch valve springs max. No beehive or special valve springs stock type only. No porting or polishing will be allowed. Steel, Stainless Steel, or Aluminum 1.5 ratio roller rockers with stud girdle allowed. Must add 50 pounds. No Shaft rockers. Screw in studs and guide plates allowed. Engine Blocks: Stock cast iron blocks only. No modifications allowed. Stock stroke for engine being used, exp. 350 C.I. Chevy 3.48” stroke. Stock rods and pistons only after market rod bolts OK. No roller or mushroom lifters allowed. Stock type timing chain and gears only. No belts or gear drives allowed. No crank lightening or grinding allowed. No after market lightweight cranks allowed. 1” inspection hole in oil pan required. No Titanium parts allowed. Max valve head diameter Chevy 1.94 intake 1.50 exhaust Ford 1.78 intake 1.45 exhaust Dodge 1.88 intake 1.60 exhaust U. Roller tip steel rockers allowed, any ratio. Any hydraulic cam and hydraulic lifters. Crate 602 legal, no certification required.
CARBURETOR- Holley #4412 or Holley Keith Dorton #80583 Box stock except for the following: Gasket, bowls seal, accelerator pump squirter, power valve, jets, sight plug, choke plate, shaft and choke horn may be removed straight cut. 2 carburetor return springs required must be mounted to engine block. Maximum carburetor adapter height including gaskets is 1.25 inches. Any mass produced aftermarket Aluminum dual plane intake manifold permitted. Edelbrock Torker 2 and Edelbrock Performer p/n 2101 and 2104 are also permitted.
AIR CLEANERS AND FILTERS- K&N air filters are allowed.
ENGINE MOUNTS- All mounts must be securely bolted and adjustable mounts are not permitted.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM- Stock type ignition only. No performance after market distributors, components, or magnetos allowed. No msd, or dui components allowed. All cars must be equipped with a master electrical switch located in the cockpit of the car. The switch must be within reach of the driver and safety crew from the left side of the car. Switch must shut off car. Batteries must be securely mounted within the confines of the body and behind the driver, in front of the rear axle and contained in electrically insulated container. No marine or plastic type boxes allowed.
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM- Stock or electric fans are permitted. Water overflow catch can unit required. One (1) quart minimum, vented out to windshield, metal or plastic, mounted in engine compartment. No anti-freeze or similar products. This is a finable offense. Water Wetter ok.
ENGINE EXHAUST SYSTEMS- Any Stock cast exhaust manifold. Headers are approved Headman Hedders P/N 68600 is recommended. Any steel equivalent street type header with standard 3″ max collector. No Modifications. No Header wrap. An approved muffler is mandatory, must not exceed 95 db @100 feet. Exhaust must extend past driver’s compartment and remain under car. Exhaust may exit on passenger side of race car in front of right rear tire and must have 4 inch ground clearance. 3″ max exhaust pipes, 2 into 1 collector, 5″ max past 2 into1. Must have 1” inspection hole inline with #3 rod.
DRIVE TRAIN- Clutch will be stock OEM steel type only. Aftermarket master and slave cylinder allowed. No lightweight or racing type disc, pressures plated, or flywheels allowed. Scatter shields mandatory! Steel Locked, limited slip, or positive-traction differentials are permitted. Rear end must be centered in car. Steel Floater type rear ends are permitted. No hollow axles. Stock Automatic transmissions optional, Min 10″ torque converter must be operational. Must have all gears. Transmission oil cooler required. Any OEM Steel rear end allowed. Must be mounted exactly as old rear end that was removed, may be used in any MFR line. 2 driveline straps, 1” x 1/8” required, mounting to be within 6” of the U-Joints are required on rear drive vehicles. Steel Drive shaft must be painted white and have car number on it for on track visibility in the event it should become separated from the car. 3 or 4 speed stock OEM transmission with all gears no modifications. No cambered or toe rear ends.
SUSPENSION AND BRAKES- Stock OEM type lower control arms only equal length, no modifications allowed. Upper tubular A-arms allowed. Must be steel one piece, either steel or aluminum cross shaft allowed. No bearings or heim joints. Stock OEM upper A-arms allowed. Any OEM factory production type of balljoint may be used. No “Mono Ball” balljoints. Stock Steel unmodified Spindles from same manufacturer. No heim joints. Stock upper control arm mounting may be moved for caster/camber. After market or fabricated upper control arm mounts are approved, cars running these style mounts may continue to do so, however, the mounting location of these perches must coincide with stock pick up point measurements ( example- camaro measurements 3 ½” front and 2 ¼” rear on both sides). No heims, no sliders boxes, no adjustable upper a arms. One mounting plate per side must contain both front and rear mounting hole. Adjustable with shims between mounting plate and upper a-arm only. Racing springs ok. Non- adjustable Racing shocks ok. No Schrader valves. No external reservoir. Lowering blocks allowed. ( leaf spring sliders approved.) All other suspension components must be of original design and origin for the chassis used. No after market look alike parts to widen suspension. Maximum overall width (front or rear) shall not exceed 67” from inside of wheel to outside of wheel at 4” ride height. Front tire width will be measured at spindle height. NO EXCEPTIONS! No aluminum shocks permitted. No weight jacks. Adjustable spring spacers allowed. Cars with weight jacks or moved shocks will carry 50 pound weight penalty. After market pedal and master cylinder assemblies allowed. Rear disc brakes allowed. All components must be steel. No light weight parts. Stock, 4 wheel hydraulic brakes required, and all must be in good working order. One adjustable brake bias valve allowed. Any steel 1 piece sway bar mounted in the stock position. NO bump stops or travel limiting devices of any kind allowed. No hold down shocks.
STEERING COMPONENTS- Stock type steel steering components only. Adjustable steel tie rod ends and sleeves approved no heim joints. Quick release steering wheels are required. Steering column must be collapsible. U joints are acceptable.
FUEL SYSTEM- Pump Fuel only. No Additives. No octane boost. (No EC-85 Fuel, No Alcohol) All cars must be equipped with an approved fuel cell, securely mounted in the trunk area. Minimum 10” ground clearance. Fuel cell must be mounted with steel framework (1 inch x 1 inch, .065 inch minimum) and must have a vent hose and the hose must have a check valve in the end. Fuel cell must be totally enclosed in an 18 gauge steel box with a ½ inch drain hole in the lower right rear corner. Ground strap required from fill neck to frame. Maximum fuel capacity 22 gallons. No electric fuel pumps permitted. Fuel lines may not enter driver’s compartment.
TIRES AND WHEELS- Steel wheels are mandatory, maximum 8” width any offset. Tire and wheel must stay inside of fender and quarter panel. 5/8” wheel studs required on all four (4) wheels. No Bleeders. Wheel spacers allowed. American Racer 970 treaded tire only. No soaking or treating or modifying (cutting, grinding, camber cutting, etc.). 6 tires may be purchased on opening night, with 2 tires available at each race thereafter. Cars failing to make opening night will be able to purchase 4 tires at their first race.
Seats and Safety Equipment- For all safety equipment. It will be the sole responsibility of the driver, not OSS, their agents/officials or corporate officers to ensure that his/her safety equipment is correctly installed, maintained, and properly used. Please refer to manufacturer installation and usage guide lines and adhere to them. Aluminum professionally built high back racing seat required. No plastic, etc. Padded headrest required. Seat must be securely bolted to a mount assembly that is an integral part of the roll cage. 6 bolts min no smaller than 3/8” diameter bolts. A five (5) point safety harness, with quick release is mandatory! 3” wide lap belt, 2” or 3” shoulder belts, and a 2” submarine belt. All belts shall be attached to roll cage using minimum 3/8 grade 8 hardware and safety cables. Loop around belts ok. Cotton harness components prohibited. Safety harnesses/seat belts may be no more than three (3) years old. Must have manufacture date. Snell SA2010 or SA2015 helmet required. Full face helmets with Lexan face shield recommended. Nomex helmet, skirt, and Nomex covered chinstrap highly recommended. A HANS or Hutchens type head and neck restraint device is strongly recommended; minimum of a neck roll required. Window net mandatory! Minimum 1” webbing with release at top only. It is required that all window net releases be updated to the quick release seat belt type with releases located and facing the outside of the car. No close mesh off-road type allowed. Fire suit mandatory at all times 2-layer one piece suit recommended. Two piece suit ok. Single layer proban suit ok with the use of nomex underwear. Approved racing gloves mandatory. No welding gloves, gardening gloves, etc. Approved racing shoes mandatory. Eye protection is mandatory and must be in proper place at all times. Current test date (2 pound minimum) fire extinguisher to be installed in the car within drivers reach while strapped in. Steel mounts only, no plastic. All cars will be required to have in their pits a minimum of one five pound, Halon or dry chemical fire extinguisher. This is to be visible to tech officials and all crewmembers. All crew members must be made aware of this location, and knowledgeable in the use of the fire extinguisher. Car and driver will be required to make safety rule violations comply PRIOR to racing any event. The use of a two-way radio with a spotter and/or pit crew is mandatory. OSS official radio frequency is 462.6750. It is highly MANDATORY that all racers monitor this frequency during all races. This will speed up getting cars lined up during yellow flags.
APPEARANCE AND IDENTIFICATION- All cars are to be neatly and brightly painted. Numbers will be a minimum of 18” on the roof and both door panels. Numbers on the roof to face toward scoring tower (flag stand). No aluminum foil type lettering. Numbers assigned to car will be displayed on the top right front of windshield, 3” minimum. Drivers first and last name to be placed above each door, on the roof in 3” letters minimum. No duplication of numbers, additional letters such as “X”, “Y”, “and N” are not to be used. Advertising or names on the windshield is not permitted. This will be reserved for a series sponsor. Advertising that is deemed to be unsuitable/offensive, will not be allowed. Decision of OSS Tech Director will be official. Series sponsor decals, if any, must be placed on designated location of car to be eligible for awards. This is to be completed PRIOR to competing in any event.
CHEVROLET CARS PRODUCED WITH 116″ WHEELBASE AND LONGER A. 400 cubic inch small block with 4BBL Carburetor approved. This combination must weigh minimum 3350lbs 54% left side weight after the race and cannot have interior metal, trunk, hood, roof, or deck lid gutted. Please call tech director if you plan on running this combination. Must comply with all other class rules. Any gutted factory produced Full Frame car min 112″ wheelbase and longer must weigh minimum 3200 lbs. 54% left side weight after the race. Please call tech director if you plan on running this combination. Must comply with all other class rules. Stock car usa with 400 ci motor must add 50 lbs.

2021 OSS Stock Pony Rules

OSS reserves the right to alter or amend the rules and regulations in the interest of safety, cost control, and/or fair competition. It is the responsibility of each competitor to read and understand the contents of these rules. If there is a disagreement or dispute regarding the meaning or application of these rules, the decision of the OSS Tech Director shall prevail.
No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of OSS racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.
No pretense is made for having designed a foolproof set of rules and regulations. The spirit and intent of the rules is the standard by which OSS events will be governed. The OSS Tech Director is authorized to decide if an equipment change or modification is an attempt to circumvent these rules. The OSS Tech Director can and will disqualify a race car in violation of the spirit and intent of these rules. If this rulebook does not specifically state that you can alter, change, or otherwise modify something on your car, you should consider it a violation of these rules. No part is deemed to have been approved by OSS by passing through prior technical inspections.
The Tech Director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the Tech Director. His decision is final.
These rules are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. All participants, guest and crew members fully understand that racing is inherently dangerous and that they are exposed to risks of death or serious bodily injury. The participants, guest and crew members voluntarily assume these risks.
COMPETING MODELS AND BODIES- Any 1970 or newer American or Foreign 2 or 4 door hardtop car produced with a min. 90″ wheel base. No Jeeps or high performance models. Any 2-wheel drive, 3 or 4 cylinder or 2 rotor engine. Front or rear wheel drive. No rear or midengine model cars. All cars must maintain stock OEM body for year, make and model. Fiberglass, steel or aluminum complete stock appearing bodies are approved. No Carbon fiber, Kevlar or titanium parts. Roof must remain stock and out of stock material. Hood and deck lid pins required. Full stock steel floorboards and firewalls required in stock location. Rear trunk area may remain open. 4″ x 50″ rear spoiler top 2″ clear lexan.
BUMPERS- Stock or fabricated bumpers are required. Front and rear bumper must be fastened to the fender and or quarter panel.
WINDOWS- A windshield made of Lexan may be used. Minimum thickness is 1/8 inch. Windshields must be supported between the dash bar and the roof halo bar with a minimum of two (2) evenly placed metal straps 1/8 inch by 1 inch or a single 1.5 inch bar in the center of the windshield welded to the dash bar and the roof halo bar. Wire mesh minimum .5” allowed. No back window allowed, rear side Lexan windows permitted. Driver side window net is required on all cars. Net material must be minimum 1 inch wide and have openings of at least one (1) inch. Net must be equipped with a quick-release device on the top left corner. Mirrors ok.
FRAMES- Full NASCAR type roll cages mandatory. Bars must be a min. of 1 1/2” O.D. X .090” wall thickness, gusset as necessary for strength. Minimum of three (3) door bars required on both sides. Right side can be straight. Engine must remain in the stock location. Fuel cell protector required, no more than the width of the frame rails. Main roll cage uprights must be fastened to floor of uni-body cars with a minimum 3/16” thick plate, top and bottom, at all four corners. Plate must be a minimum of 4” square, with (4); 3/8” grade 8 bolts at each location. Roll bar padding must be used at any point where driver may make contact. Door bars must be covered with a 1/16” thick steel metal plate, top to bottom, from front and rear uprights, welded to outside of bars. Stock frames only for year make and model. No modifications allowed. Trucks may notch the rear frame section to clear the rear end housing in order to lower the truck. Trucks may also move the rear shocks to lower the truck. Minimum 3” ride height with driver must be maintained at all times.
WEIGHT, WIDTH AND WHEELBASE- Min. weight 2200lbs and max. 57% left side weight at anytime. Trucks min weight 2265 and 57% max left side weight at anytime. All vehicles submitted for competition must have weight and left side % posted in 1” letters on passenger side B pillar in a position for tech official to read while on scales. It is the driver’s responsibility to know their legal weight, if you post the incorrect weight for your race car you will be disqualified and receive no points or money. Min. wheelbase 90″ must remain as factory produced. Maximum overall width (front or rear) shall not exceed 62.5” from inside wheel to outside of wheel. Oil pan must have a minimum 1” inspection plug inline with #2 rod. Aftermarket oil pans, valve covers, water pump, fan pullies are allowed. No “stroker” or lightweight cranks allowed, factory OEM unmodified cranks only. Heads: Stock heads only. A stock head will be characterized as a cylinder head which was offered as standard equipment with no performance advantage. Stock for year, make and model 2 plug head add 50 lbs. No special performance options will be allowed, including but not limited to, oversize valves, special cut valves, relocated intake or exhaust bowls or ports. Stainless steel valves approved. No porting or polishing will be allowed. No roller rockers on the valve. side or cam side permitted. Max. cam lift is .480” measured at the valve. No billet camshafts. Cast iron camshafts only. 2302 cc max. plus max. overbore .060” Trucks 2366 cc max plus max overbore .060” Engine Blocks: Stock blocks only. No modifications allowed. Stock stroke for engine being used. No Teflon coated parts. Stock lifters only. Solid lifters permitted. Stock type timing chain or belt only. No gear drives allowed. No crank lightening or grinding allowed. No after market lightweight cranks allowed. No titanium parts allowed. Trucks may use approved aftermarket connecting rod. (call for approval)
CARBURETOR- Stock Holley list 7448, 350 cfm carb only. Must remove choke butterfly plate, shaft and linkage. No other modifications allowed. No VDL, CARB shop or any other aftermarket re-worked carbs allowed. 2 carburetor return springs required must be mounted to engine block. Any unmodified OEM intake manifold, no turbo intakes, and max 1” thick carb spacer or adapter. No vacuum leaks
AIR CLEANERS AND FILTERS- No cold air induction allowed; K&N air filters are allowed. No air deflector allowed on front. Air filters only. Top and bottom of air cleaner must be solid and same diameter. Tubes, funnels, or any device which may control the flow of air, will not be permitted inside the air cleaner or between filter housing and carburetor.
ENGINE MOUNTS- All mounts must be securely bolted and adjustable mounts are not permitted.

Steel Floater type rear ends are permitted. No hollow axles. No Quick change rear ends. Any OEM steel rear end allowed. Must be mounted exactly as old rear end that was removed, may be used in any MFR line. 2 driveline straps, 1” x 1/8” required, mounting to be within 6” of the U-Joints are required on rear drive vehicles. Steel Drive shaft must be painted white and have car number for on track visibility in the event it should become separated from the car. No cambered or toe in rear ends. Cars with independent rear suspension call for approved modifications. No 9” rear ends.
SUSPENSION AND BRAKES- Stock OEM lower control arms for make and model, no modifications allowed. Stock OEM upper control arm for make and model, no modifications allowed. Any OEM factory production type of ball joint may be used. No “Mono Ball” ball joints. Upper ball joints may be moved to adjust camber and eliminate binds. Stock steel unmodified OEM spindles for make and model. Trucks call for approved aftermarket stock replacement drop spindles. No heim joints. Stock type bushings. Stock OEM for make and model steering components. Stock or stock type replacement steering rack permitted. Racing springs ok. Lowering blocks allowed. Sliders blocks approved. No coilovers unless stock production for your year make and model. All other suspension components must be of original design and origin for the chassis used. No after market look alike parts to widen suspension. Any steel non-adjustable, non-rebuildable, factory sealed (welded) shock that fits the stock mounts may be used. 50/50 valving only. Shock ends must be the same as OEM shocks. No heim joint or tie rod ends. No remote shocks. No spacing shocks up or down. Stock mount only. One threaded weight jack bolt may be used for each spring aligned with the coil. After market pedal and master cylinder assemblies allowed. Rear disc brakes allowed. Stock steel calipers. All components must be steel. No light weight parts. Stock make and model brakes. 4-wheel hydraulic brakes required, and all must be in good working order. One adjustable brake bias valve allowed. Any steel 1 piece sway bar mounted in the stock position. Mounted with rubber or urethane bushings. Outer may be adjustable. No heim joints allowed on the sway bar. No moving of suspension mounting points front or rear. If car has crash damage and has been repaired the mounting points must be to the stock specifications. Rear upper shock location may be moved to accommodate the lowering of the car or truck. No travel limiters or bump stops of any kind.
STEERING COMPONENTS- Stock steel OEM for make and model steering components only. Quick release steering wheels are required. Steering column must be collapsible. U joints are acceptable.

Fuel cell must be totally enclosed in an 18 gauge steel box with a ½ inch drain hole in the lower right rear corner. Ground strap required from fill neck to frame. Tethered cap. Maximum fuel capacity 22 gallons. No electric fuel pumps permitted. If the fuel line runs through the drivers compartment it must pass through a metal tube sealed at both ends and brightly marked “do not cut fuel line”. Must have fuel cell protection bar.
TIRES AND WHEELS- Steel wheels are mandatory, max 8” width x 13” any offset. Tire and wheel must stay inside of fender and quarter panel. Stock type after-market long wheel studs allowed and recommended. All studs must have threads showing through the lug nut. No Bleeders. Wheel spacers and wheel adapters allowed. American Racer tires only.

A five (5) point safety harness, with quick release is mandatory! 3” wide lap belt, 2” or 3” shoulder belts, and a 2” submarine belt. All belts shall be attached to roll cage using minimum 3/8 grade 8 hardware and safety cables. Loop around belts ok. Cotton harness components prohibited. Safety harnesses/seat belts may be no more than three (3) years old. Must have manufacture date. Snell SA2010 or SA2015 helmet required. Full face helmets with Lexan face shield recommended. Nomex helmet, skirt, and Nomex covered chinstrap highly recommended. A HANS or Hutchens type head and neck restraint device is strongly recommended; minimum of a neck roll required. Window net mandatory! Minimum 1” webbing with release at top only. It is required that all window net releases be updated to the quick release seat belt type with releases located and facing the outside of the car. No close mesh off-road type allowed. Fire suit mandatory at all times. Two layer one piece suit recommended. Two piece suit ok. Single layer proban suit ok with nomex underwear. Approved racing gloves mandatory. No welding gloves, gardening gloves, etc. Approved racing shoes mandatory. Eye protection is mandatory and must be in proper place at all times. Current test date (2 pound minimum) fire extinguisher to be installed in the car within drivers reach while strapped in. Steel mounts only, no plastic. All cars will be required to have in their pits a minimum of one five-pound, Halon or dry chemical fire extinguisher. This is to be visible to tech officials and all crewmembers. All crew members must be made aware of this location, and knowledgeable in the use of the fire extinguisher. Car and driver will be required to make safety rule violations comply PRIOR to racing any event. The use of a two-way radio with a spotter and/or pit crew is mandatory. OSS official radio frequency is 462.6750. It is highly recommended that all racers monitor this frequency during all races. This will speed up getting cars lined up during yellow flags.
APPEARANCE AND IDENTIFICATION- All cars are to be neatly and brightly painted. Numbers will be a minimum of 18” on the roof and both door panels. Numbers on the roof to face toward scoring tower (flag stand). No aluminum foil type lettering. Numbers assigned to car will be displayed on the top right front of windshield, 3” minimum. Drivers first and last name to be placed above each door, on the roof in 3” letters minimum. No duplication of numbers, additional letters such as “X”, “Y”, “and N” are not to be used. Advertising or names on the windshield is not permitted. This will be reserved for a series sponsor. Advertising that is deemed to be unsuitable/offensive, will not be allowed. Decision of OSS Tech Director will be official. Series sponsor decals, if any, must be placed on designated location of car to be eligible for awards. This is to be completed PRIOR to competing in any event.
ELECTRONICS- No electronic monitoring computer devices capable of storing or transmitting information except tachometers. No digital gauges, timing retard controls or oxygen sensors allowed. No electronic traction control devices allowed. All cars must have two-way communication with a spotter or at least one way communication by scanning race control with a Raceceiver.

2021 Sport Compact Rules

COMPETING MODELS
Open to any 1980-2004 American or Foreign 2-4 door hardtop front wheel drive model cars.
BODIES
All cars must maintain stock OEM body for year, make, and model. No carbon fiber or Kevlar parts. Cars equipped with a sun/moon roof must have glass and mechanism removed and replaced with a solid single piece of minimum 18-gauge metal held in place with a minimum  (rivets, screws, or bolts. A minimum of (2) pins per hood and deck lid. Hood and deck lid latches may be removed. Hood and deck lid hinges may be used. Full stock steel floorboards and firewalls required in stock location. A rear spoiler may be used.
BUMPERS, HEADLIGHTS, AND TAILLIGHTS
Stock front and rear bumpers are required. All bumper covers must be complete and neat appearing. Headlights, marker lights, and taillights must be removed.
WINDSHIELDS, WINDOWS, WINDOWNETS, AND MIRRORS
A windshield is mandatory. The windshield must be replaced with a one-piece sheet of Lexan minimum 1/8” thickness or a steel mesh screen is acceptable. All other windows must be removed. All cars must have a minimum of two supports between the dash board and inner structure of roof behind Lexan or mesh screen. Window nets with a quick release latch are mandatory and securely fastened to the chassis, no rivets or zip ties. A rear-view mirror is mandatory. A driver’s side mirror may be used but cannot extend past the body.
DOORS, FENDERS, AND QUARTER PANELS
Steel doors only. Doors must be welded or bolted shut with a minimum of (2) 3/8’ bolts and a 1” by 6” steel strap. Stock steel fenders and quarter panels only.
FRAMES AND ROLLCAGE
A roll cage built to the following guidelines is mandatory: Constructed of magnetic steel with a minimum outside diameter of 1 ½’ and a minimum thickness of .090. All welds must be of good quality. Bolted cages kits may be used with the approval of Orange Show Speedway officials. Cages must have 3- door bars on each side and must be welded to the main cage. Door bars can be straight. The door bars must be connected to the main cage with an A-post bar on both sides. The main cage hoop must be welded or bolted to the car using 2”x2” by 4” 3/16” thick angle steel, if bolted a minimum of (4) 3/8’ grade 8 bolts must be used. A horizontal cross bar must be welded to the main cage both at the dash and behind the seat. Door bars must be covered with a minimum 1/8” steel plate, it must be welded and cover the door bars from top to bottom and extend the entire width of the door bars. Stock frames for year, make, and model only. No modifications to the frame. Strut tower bars or any bars to stiffen frame allowed, subject to judgment by Orange Show Speedway officials.
WEIGHT, WIDTH, AND WHEELBASE
Minimum weight is one pound per cc without driver. Left and right weight percentage must be balanced within 1%. All vehicles submitted for competition must have weight and left side % posted in 1” letters on passenger side B pillar in a position for tech official to read while on scales. It is the driver’s responsibility to know their legal weight, if you post the incorrect weight for your race car you will be disqualified and receive no points or money. Minimum wheelbase is 90” and maximum is 107”. Cars must remain factory produced in regards to wheelbase. Added weight must be securely mounted using (2) ½’ grade 8 bolts. Weight must be attached to the floor pan with an 1/8” thick strap between the nut or bolt head and floor pan. All added weight must be painted white with car number on it. Weight cannot be mounted further back than rear axle and no further forward than firewall.
ENGINE
The engine must be completely stock for make and model of car. All engines must be mass-produced for the US market. No special performance options will be allowed. 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engines with a maximum displacement of 2.5 liters (2500cc). No turbo-chargers or supercharger allowed. Engines may be rebuilt or repaired to manufacturers and industry standards approved by Orange Show Speedway Officials. Other than parts used to rebuild or repair an engine to the approved standards, no aftermarket parts are allowed in or on the engine. Parts and components used for an approved repair or rebuild to the engine must be of the same design and characteristics as the part(s) that are being replaced. Stock fuel injection or carburetor for make and model car only. Stock head only. A stock head will be characterized as a cylinder head which was offered as standard equipment with no performance advantage and stock for make and model. Stock blocks only with no modifications. Stock type timing chain or belt only. The cam(s) must remain stock. Stock unmodified OEM intake manifold only. Exhaust manifold or header must be approved by Orange Show Speedway Officials. Paper or gauze air filter/air filter elements are allowed. A washable air filter element ok. Aftermarket air tubes that relocate the air filter and housing inside the engine compartment are allowed but must be approved by Orange Show Speedway Officials. The engine must be located in the stock location. All engine mounts must be securely bolted.
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM
A one (1) quart minimum water overflow catch can unit required. Must be mounted in engine compartment. No anti-freeze, coolant or similar products. Radiator must be in the stock location. Mechanical or electric fans are approved.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Stock ignition only. Stock ECU, ECM and PCM for year, make and model only. No performance aftermarket ECU/ECM, PCM distributors, ignition components (except spark plugs and plug wires). All cars should be equipped with a master electrical switch located in the cockpit of the car. The switch must be clearly marked “OFF” and within reach of the driver and safety crew from the left or right side of the car. The switch must shut off car. Batteries must be securely mounted in the car in a sealed battery box. Except for those that are original equipment of the car being used, the use data loggers capable of storing information, timing retard controls, GPS devices, torque control or electronic traction control devices will not be allowed.
EXHAUST SYSTEMS
Any Stock OEM exhaust system allowed. The muffler and catalytic converter may be removed. The exhaust must exit behind the driver. Cars must not exceed 90db @100 feet.
DRIVE TRAIN
Stock manual or automatic transmission and transmission components (clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, etc.) for make and model being used. No modifications to the transmission or its components. All gears must be operable including reverse. No mechanical limited slip differentials. No traction aid devices.
SUSPENSION
The only modifications allowed to the suspension are those detailed below. All other suspension components must remain as design and unaltered from the original for the make and model of car being used. No widening of the suspension. Any OEM type steel non-adjustable, non-rebuildable, factory sealed (welded) shock or strut that fits the stock mounts in the stock location may be used. Strut and shock ends must be OEM original. Stock type springs for make. All springs must be approved by Orange Show Speedway before being used in competition. The spring location and mounting may not be altered in any way. No adjustable spring mounts. The maximum camber adjustment allowed front or rear is 3 degrees with driver in car.
BRAKES
With the exception of the brake pads and fluid, all other brake system components must remain stock for make and model car being used. The brake pads may be replaced with high-performance pads.
STEERING COMPONENTS
Stock steel OEM for make and model steering components only
FUEL AND FUEL SYSTEM
Pump fuel only. No additives, octane boost or blending of fuels. The only oxygenates present in the fuel cannot exceed the amount common to pump gas. The gas tank must remain in the stock location.
WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel or aluminum wheels only. The maximum wheel width is 7-inches. The maximum wheel diameter is 15-inches. Wheels may be any off-set but the offset must match for all four wheels. All tires used in competition must be submitted to Orange Show Speedway Officials for approval. The lowest treadwear rating for an approved tire is 200. The treadwear rating must be clearly visible on the sidewall of the tire. No tire bleeders allowed. The maximum purchase price for any single tire used in competition is $135 The maximum tread width of a single tire is 7.5-inches. Orange Show Speedway reserves the right to mandate a track tire that must be used by all competitors.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT
For all safety equipment, it is the responsibility of the driver, to ensure that all safety equipment is correctly installed, maintained, and properly used. The safety equipment manufacturer ‘s installation and use guidelines must be used at all times to ensure the proper use and maintenance of all safety equipment
SAFETY HARNESS SYSTEMS
A minimum five-point safety harness, manufactured to the SFI standard is mandatory. All belts shall be attached using minimum 3/8 grade 8 hardware or the mounting hardware supplied by the seat belt manufacturer. Wrap around shoulder belts ok. Must be mounted per manufacturer guidelines. Shoulder belts must remain stationary on the bar and not move allowing the belts to slip off of the driver’s shoulders. Safety harnesses/seat belts must not show wear. Torn or frayed belts must be replaced.
HELMET/HEAD AND NECK RESTRAINT
A helmet meeting the Snell SA2010 or SA2015 standard is required. An SFI approved head and neck restraint device is recommended.
FIRE SUIT AND FIRE-RESISTANT CLOTHING
A fire suit meeting the SFI 3.2/A1 standard at a minimum is mandatory at all times. Gloves are mandatory. Approved racing gloves, racing shoes and fire-resistant undergarments are recommended.
FIRE EXTINGUISHER
A fire extinguisher installed in the car within driver’s reach is recommended. Steel mounts only
APPEARANCE AND IDENTIFICATION
A number with a minimum of height of 18-inches on the roof and both sides of the car must be used. Side numbers may be located anywhere rearward of the front fender. All numbers must be of a contrasting color of the car. Roof numbers face toward right side of the car. Numbers may be one to three digits. Double and three-digit numbers must not overlap. No duplication of numbers, additional letters such as “Y” and N” are not to be used. The letter “X” shall be deemed to represent the number 10. Advertising or names on the windshield is not permitted except those that are an approved sponsor of the Orange Show Speedway Sport Compact Division. Advertising, logos or slogans that are deemed by Orange Show Speedway to be unsuitable or offensive, will not be allowed.
