This Bud’s no longer for you, Kevin Harvick.

Anheuser-Busch will change the branding on the car of the defending Sprint Cup champion from Budweiser to Busch starting in 2016, Stewart-Haas Racing confirmed Monday. Anheuser-Busch is the primary sponsor for 20 of the 38 races for Harvick.

Budweiser has been on a hood of a Sprint Cup car dating back to 1983, including being aligned with Harvick since 2011. The Busch brand also has a deep history in NASCAR, including Busch’s sponsorship of what is now the NASCAR Xfinity Series from 1982-2007.

“NASCAR continues to be a priority platform for our beer portfolio,” Anheuser-Busch vice president for consumer connections Lucas Herscovici told the SportsBusiness Journal. “We will be shifting our brand equity in [Kevin] Harvick’s car and team from Budweiser to our Busch beer portfolio for the 2016 NASCAR season.

“The Busch brand is well positioned for this partnership given the brand’s storied history with the sport.”
