Pro Stock racer Shane Gray will carry the colors of Valvoline on the Gray Motorsports Camaro for the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season, along with backing from Nova Services at select events.

Valvoline, a longtime partner of Gray Motorsports, has signed on for the entire year, and Nova Services, which specializes in serving the needs of the oil and gas industry and has been a major player in the oil field since 1989, will sponsor Gray’s Chevrolet Camaro for at least four races, including the season opener in Pomona, the Circle K NHRA Winternationals, Feb. 11-14.

“Everyone at Valvoline has been great, and they’ve been an excellent partner for Gray Motorsports. We’re thrilled that they’re back for another season with us,” Gray said. “And adding Nova Services is special. My family has known Ken Bromley, the owner of Nova Services, for a long time, and we’re hoping to provide them with additional exposure that will help their business expand this year.

“Hat’s off to Sean Cain at Blackbeard, who did an awesome job with the paint scheme incorporating both of these wonderful companies. I can’t wait to race this great-looking car.”

Gray Motorsports was the first team to test under NHRA’s new rules, which mandate the use of fuel-injected engines with a rev limit of 10,500 rpm. Gray has more tests planned in advance of the season opener.

In addition to the support of Valvoline and Nova Services, Gray Motorsports is maintaining a strong relationship with other partners for the 2016 season: IDG Supply, Sunoco Race Fuels, Safety Kleen, Sparco, Bell Helmets, KYMCO, Motec, Berger Chevrolet, and GM Parts Now.
