Bob Vandergriff Racing has announced a multiyear agreement with Parts Plus that will include the 2013, 2014, and 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Veteran driver Clay Millican joins Bob Vandergriff Racing, and the team owner couldn’t be more excited to be joining forces.

“Our goal has been to add a full-time team to complement our C&J Energy Services team, and we are finally able to do that,” said Bob Vandergriff Jr. C&J and its subsidiaries Total Equipment and Casedhole Solutions will also support the Parts Plus team. “To compete on an even playing field with the other elite teams, we knew a second team was paramount to our success. Bringing Parts Plus with their entire network to our program and having the ability to bring a great driver and fan favorite like Clay to our team is a huge plus for us.”

2012 was a successful year for Vandergriff. He won the NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas and finished the season eighth in points. In November, Vandergriff and his wife, Marisa, welcomed another son into their family.

Millican has found most of his success in IHRA. He has the most wins of any Top Fuel driver in IHRA history (51) and six consecutive world championships. During the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Millican ran very consistently, qualifying at 22 of 23 races. He advanced to the semifinals four times and finished the season 12th in points. Millican has been driving for MPE Motorsports since 2008.

“I can’t wait to get started, and I’m excited about joining Bob Vandergriff Racing,” said Millican. “BVR has made great strides and will provide me the opportunity to not only win races, but compete for the championship! Bob has assembled a quality team of crew chiefs and personnel, and I’m looking forward to being a teammate to Bob. We both have lofty goals for the upcoming season!” (NHRA)
