IndyCar released a statement Wednesday afternoon that the sanctioning body is monitoring the coronavirus outbreak but expects no schedule disruptions to its NTT Data Series season opener.

According to the statement from IndyCar: “We are actively monitoring the situation and working closely with public health officials to ensure the well-being of our spectators and event participants. We don’t expect any disruptions to the IndyCar schedule, including next week’s race in St. Petersburg and the Month of May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.”

The Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will take place March 15. The race will be broadcast at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 will take place May 24 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

NASCAR, IMSA and ARCA also jointly released a statement Wednesday about monitoring the coronavirus.
