Feld Motor Sports® announced today that GoPro, maker of the world’s most versatile camera and enabler of the most engaging and immersive user-generated content, will be the official technical supplier of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. As a training tool for lap review, the HERO3+ camera will be made available for all racers in the paddock.

The top 40 finishing riders from the 2013 450SX Class, as well as the top 20 finishing riders from both coastal divisions from the 2013 250SX Classes, will be provided a camera kit so they may capture their laps. All other racers will be provided the opportunity to check out equipment on race day at all 17 Monster Energy Supercross races.

In addition to the providing equipment to the field of racers, GoPro will also be rewarding those who race with the camera and yield the best results. The first-ever GoPro Cup will award the top 450SX Class rider $10,000.

“We are very happy to welcome GoPro back as a partner of Monster Energy Supercross, especially in this new capacity as the official technical supplier,” said Todd Jendro, vice president of two wheel operations, Feld Motor Sports. “We feel this new service that GoPro is providing will be a great technical benefit to both the teams and all the riders wanting to review their laps on the track. Any rider wishing to participate in this program will have access to the GoPro HERO3+ camera from qualifying during the day through the Main Events.”

Furthermore, GoPro will be providing race fans and television audiences with the most immersive perspective possible by capturing the rider’s perspective for broadcast with GoPro Course Previews, both on FOX Sports 1 and CBS Sports.

“GoPro cameras not only provide the most immersive perspective possible for the fans, they also enable racers to review their laps and maximize their time in practice sessions. We feel it’s important that all racers get the opportunity, if they want it, to utilize GoPro as a training and practice tool, and our partnership with Feld Motor Sports and Monster Energy Supercross allows us to provide that,” said Todd Ballard, Director of Sports Marketing for GoPro.

All season long, the new GoPro HERO3+ camera will be capturing the racers’ perspective so the fans can experience the triples, bowl turns, and whoops as if they were on the bike. Catch all of the racing action live on FOX Sports 1, in addition to CBS Sports, and tune into the GoPro YouTube channel for exclusive supercross GoPro content, including course previews.

For the first-time ever, the entire Monster Energy Supercross season will air live on FOX Sports. FOX Sports 1 will air 13 races live and FOX Sports 2 will air four races live, in addition to every race re-airing on FOX Sports 2. The live Monster Energy Supercross programming on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 also includes live coverage on the authenticated FOX Sports Go app.
