Jason Anderson stole the show Saturday night with a last lap pass to win the 250SX Main Event at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Rockstar Energy KTM-backed rider trailed Cole Seely for 14 of the 15 laps, but would steal the win away from his title rival on the final lap.

“I’m not gonna let this (championship) slip away,” said Anderson. “I think Cole was riding good tonight, I just had to stay on him. Those late passes aren’t planned. I want to lead a race from start to finish.

“I think my fitness is good and I’m in it to win it every race and that’s what I’m showing.”

Flashback to Anaheim 1 when Seely led over Anderson on the final lap. With a bold pass in the penultimate turn, Anderson stripped the win away from Seely.

Deja vu.

“Jason just threw another wheel on me on the last lap.” said Seely. “I can’t blame anyone but myself. I made a stupid mistake on the last lap and it cost me the race.”

Seely held a sizable lead over Anderson as they began the final lap, but contact with a tuff block allowed Anderson to close the gap and nab his second straight victory.

The podium was also identical to Anaheim, with GEICO Honda rider Zach Osborne finishing in third for the second straight week. Dean Wilson finished fourth with Malcolm Stewart in fifth.

Anderson rolls into Anaheim 2 with a six point lead over Seely and 10 point lead over Osborne. Tune in to FOX Sports 1 on Jan. 18 to see the action unfold as riders take to Angel Stadium of Anaheim for the second time this season.
