A fracture of his C3 vertebrae will force Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Christophe Pourcel to miss a second straight race this weekend in Detroit. Pourcel made the announcement on his Instagram page writing, “I fractured a large piece of my C3 vertebrae in a practice crash last week and it needs more time to heal.”

Pourcel sustained the injury during a practice crash last week and missed his first race of the season in Toronto. According to Pourcel, doctors have also advised that he sit out this weekend.

In his post Pourcel also referenced the rumor that he missed last week due to visa issues, writing: “P.S. I have a green card and can travel freely, for all of the Visa speculation from last week.”

With a week break for the Easter holiday following this weekend, Pourcel is hopeful he will be able to return in Santa Clara on April 2.

Just to update everyone, I will be missing Detroit SX this weekend. Doctors orders to sit this one out, but we are hopeful for a return in Santa Clara.
