MAD Racing Dirt Candy Suzuki’s Daniel Baker will miss the remainder of Monster Energy Supercross after injuring his ankle at Round 2 in San Diego. Baker sustained the injury in practice when he was forced to change his line in the whoops due to a downed rider and caught his leg on the last whoop, according to the team.

Baker underwent surgery this morning to repair torn ligaments in his ankle, prematurely ending his rookie supercross season. No timetable on his return has been announced.

The team has said they will field at fill-in rider at Round 3 in Anaheim and will make the announcement later this week.

It’s expected that Australian Luke Clout will fill the spot.
