According to the NASCAR Nationwide Series Twitter, the #9 Chevy of Chase Elliott failed post-race inspection at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for being too low in the left front.

Elliott finished fifth on Saturday in the Boyd Gaming 300. NASCAR also took the right rear shock from the #22 Ford of race winner Brad Keselowski.

Penalties are expected early next week.

According to the new 2014 penalty system, the team could lose up to 10 points and/or receive a fine spanning $5,000 to $12,500, along with the potential for a suspension or probation.
