Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill cruised to his first career Monster Energy Supercross 250SX win Saturday night in San Diego, Calif. and became the fourth different rider to win a main event race this season.

The young rider from Yoncalla, Ore. assumed the lead on Lap 2 when his teammate Dean Wilson clipped a tuff block and crashed. Hill took advantage of the mistake and was unchallenged for the remainder of the 15-lap feature.

“What an amazing feeling to get a win,” said Hill. “I had a lot more confidence after getting on the podium in Oakland and I was able to stay focused. I was so focused I missed the white flag, so when I got the checkered I kept charging thinking there was one more lap. This is just so awesome.”

Jason Anderson finished second ahead of four Troy Lee Designs Honda riders, led by Malcolm Stewart in third. Teammates Cole Seely, Shane McElrath and Jessy Nelson rounded out the top six.

Wilson, who won last weekend at Anaheim 3, spent several laps in the mechanics area before re-joining the race and finishing 21st.

Anderson’s fourth podium of the season gives him sole possession of the points lead and a four-point advantage over Seely as the Western Regional 250SX Class heads into its annual break. Anderson and competition will be back in action April 5 at Houston’s Reliant Stadium.

Next week, Monster Energy Supercross heads to Arlington, Texas where the Eastern Regional 250SX Class Championship will get underway. The action begins at 8:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 2.
