Many in racing took to social media Sunday to thank Tony Stewart for donating the use of his plane to Justin Wilson’s family after Wilson was injured in Sunday’s IndyCar race at Pocono Raceway.

Wilson was struck by a piece of flying debris from Sage Karam’s car after Karam hit the wall. IndyCar stated Sunday night that Wilson suffered “a severe head injury” and was in a coma in critical condition.

Stewart has been known to provide the use of his plane for family members of those in racing when someone has been injured or had a health issue. Most of the time it’s done without fanfare, but IndyCar and NASCAR competitors expressed their gratitude Sunday.
