Ivan Tedesco, who retired last July from professional racing after a fourteen-year career, which included three titles (2004 and 2005 West Region 125 Supercross and 2005 AMA 125 Motocross), injured his ankle and heel during qualifying Friday at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm event and will see a specialist this week, he announced on Instagram.
“I was having some fun on the #straightrhythm course until we had a little issue and had to bail off my bike mid air in qualifying,” he wrote. “My ankle/heel is smashed and swelled up huge so I’m going to see a specialist this week to make a plan for recovery. Glad I’m some what ok cause it could have been really bad.”
Since retiring, Tedesco has transitioned into a test rider role with RCH Suzuki, helping the team with its weekly preparations.
