Legacy Motor Club released members of its No. 84 team earlier this week. Jason Burdett, who jumped to the Cup Series after a long tenure with JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series, was among the employees that were let go.
In six starts this season with seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, the No. 84 team has a pair of 28th-place finishes. Johnson has two DNFs, with wrecks at Kansas Speedway and last weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the Brickyard 400.
Johnson will fulfill his nine-race slate this season, with upcoming races at Kansas, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the season finale at Phoenix Raceway.
