Yup, Sorry NASCAR but its true.

NASCAR, Media Members and other people that pull a pay check from NASCAR is some form will tell you that the Nationwide series is a series that grows young talent and gives them a stage to show case their talents.

What a load of crap.

15 years ago, that was the series. Today, its the Sprint cup final practice.

734095_4137538377373_516705636_nMore and more cup drivers are heading into the Nationwide series to ‘have the opportunity to race with different sponsors’ and ‘get more seat time’ on that track for that weekend. NASCAR leads us to believe that the Cup Series has the best drivers in the country, why do they need more seat time? Why do they need to race for other sponsors? Don’t they make enough to pay the bills at home in the cup series?!

When you break it down to its most basic level, racing is a job. How you like it if your boss and the CEO of your company started doing your job and telling you to take a few days off without pay? Thats what we are talking about! The cup drivers take money away from the Nationwide drivers. Anyone that says differently is full of crap! No, not all of the sponsors that back cup drivers in Nationwide will stay with other Nationwide drivers, but something that NAPA proved, they would rather be with a Nationwide team that is up near the front week-in and week-out than a cup team that has to cheep to make the Chase and can only win a race every 2 years. Yes Michael Waltrip, I’m talking about you but let me make you happy for you will forget that I just called you out: “Toyota, Aaron’s, 5 hour Energy, Toyota.”

The Cup drivers (and cup teams) also take the prize money away from these smaller Nationwide teams and drivers. That money would be used to make the cars and teams better on and off the track but Cup Teams feel the need to take this money from the smaller teams but then give them a gas man or an old part then brag that they helped “the little guy” because they are good racers and good sports. Right. There is nothing about taking something from the little guy just because you can, that is what cup teams in the Nationwide series have been doing for years and NASCAR lets it happen.

Its been over 15 years since the cup dominance in the Nationwide series has started and NASCAR is just now taking about maybe doing something about it. Most of the media will stay there is no problem (The people on NASCAR Sirius XM will say there is no problem but since NASCAR controls the content on that station you can’t really trust what you hear from the hosts)

I know what your thinking, why is Alan saying this now? Why is he waving the flag?

It takes someone to stand up to start something big, I’ve said it before on the air millions of time, I don’t want people to stand up and agree with me, I just want people to think!

I want YOU the NASCAR fan to stop and think, would you rather have 3 okay series or 2 strong series?

Why not kill the Nationwide series and have 2 strong series with Cup and Trucks?

NASCAR still has no sponsor for the now Nationwide series and with no one really ready to step for the next 10 years, maybe its finally time to kill the series?

The cup drivers would mostly stay in Cup and the nationwide teams can either go Truck racing or die quickly, rather than slowly like they are now.

Your turn to rant.

Kill Nationwide and create 2 strong series or watch Kyle and Brad win every Saturday for 10 more years?
