The entire NHRA family is deeply saddened to learn that Dalton Millican, the 22-year-old son of NHRA Top Fuel driver Clay Millican, passed away Wednesday night in a single-person motorcycle accident.

“Everyone at NHRA sends our deepest condolences to Clay Millican and the entire Millican family,” said Peter Clifford, NHRA president. “Clay and his family will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. This tragic loss will be felt by everyone in our sport.”

The Millican family released the following statement Wednesday night:

“Family, Friends & Fans – It is with extremely heavy hearts that we let you know that late last night we lost our beloved son, Dalton Millican, age 22, in a single-person motorcycle accident close to our hometown of Drummonds, Tenn. We are heartbroken by the tragic loss to our family. We appreciate all of your love and support as we navigate through the very difficult road ahead. Funeral arrangements are pending, and we will announce those once they have been finalized. We ask for your continued love and prayers and privacy at this time. – Clay, Donna, and Cale Millican”

Dalton Millican also was a racer. He competed in Monster Jam driving the Blue Thunder monster truck. Clay Millican drives the Parts Plus/Great Clips Top Fuel dragster in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

Funeral Arrangements for Dalton Clay Millican are as follows:

The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Sunday, August 16 with funeral at 2 p.m. at Munford Chapel in Munford, Tenn. Dalton is survived by his parents Clay and Donna Millican; brother, Cale Millican; and grandparents, Jimmie and Martha Millican, Betty Hutchison and the late Denvil Hutchison.
