As Daytona approaches, Van der Steur Racing is excited to announce its lineup for a breakthrough entry into the Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) class.
The No. 19 entry will be piloted by fan favorites Rory van der Steur and Valentin Hasse-Clot, who return to the team to continue their successful partnership. Together, they will compete in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
In addition, two highly sought-after seats have been secured by Maxime Robin, an Aston Martin Academy driver, who will join the team for Daytona, and Anthony McIntosh, a Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Champion, who completes the squad for the 2025 season.
Van der Steur Racing is poised for an exciting campaign, with a talented and dynamic lineup ready to make an impact in the GTD class.
Rory reflected on the significance of this event, highlighting not only its importance for the team but also its personal meaning to him.
“This race is a dream come true as I’ve been watching it since I was a little kid. Having grown up watching and attending ALMS (American Le Mans Series) races, to now driving in my first ever Rolex 24; it’s quite surreal. We came here to win with the help of AMR (Aston Martin Racing); but I don’t think any team or driver can say they can win this race on paper as anything can happen in a blink of an eye. This is one of the biggest sports car races in the world and to say I’m excited is an understatement. I’m going in with an open mind and putting my trust in every member on the team. Who knows what happens after 24 hours and that’s what makes it so great!”
“After racing in Europe for a year, I am looking forward to coming back home to race some of the best tracks in America,” McIntosh also shared his excitement about taking the next step in his racing career with Van der Steur Racing, expressing his eagerness to be part of the team’s journey.
Maxime Robin took a moment to share his anticipation ahead of the iconic event. “I’m thrilled to join the VDSR team for the 24 Hours of Daytona. This race marks my debut in the U.S. and an important chapter for the team as they enter GTD competition. It’s an honor to be part of this journey, and I’m grateful to Chris and the entire team for their trust. I’ll do my best to deliver a strong performance during these iconic 24 hours. The countdown is on—let’s make it count!”
Hasse-Clot went on to recognize how significant this event is. “After two years of working with VDSR and Rory, I am proud to be part of this important new chapter in the team’s history. The IMSA WeatherTech championship and particularly Daytona have always been on my bucket list. I feel lucky to do this race with people I call friends. I’m looking forward to continuing the good work started in November during the official tests.”
With the Roar Before the Rolex 24 and the race itself fast approaching, the entire Van der Steur Racing team is eager to hit the track and showcase their potential in the GTD class.
The 2025 Endurance Cup season promises to be a thrilling one for the team, with a lineup positioned to make their mark on track.
