Top Fuel driver Larry Dixon had luck on his side during the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals on Saturday afternoon.
Dixon was involved in a stomach-churning crash after his car broke apart while topping speeds of 280 miles per hour. As he approached the finish line of the short qualifying session, his car took flight and broke apart in mid-air.
Remarkably, Dixon was unhurt after this terrifying crash, and was in good spirits when reporters spoke to him after he was treated.
