James Stewart and Jason Anderson enter Saturday night’s Monster Energy Supercross race at Qualcomm Stadium as the fastest qualifiers in their respective classes.

Yoshimura Suzuki’s Stewart controlled much of the final 450SX Class practice, eventually setting a 46.808 to firmly claim the top spot. Ken Roczen, the only other rider to break into the 46-second bracket, was second.

More than seven-tenths of a second behind Roczen was teammate Ryan Dungey, followed by Ryan Villopoto, Justin Brayton and Andrew Short.

Last week’s winner Chad Reed only managed to qualify seventh and will be placed into the second 450SX heat with Stewart, Dungey and Brayton.

Unfortunately, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer will sit out round six in San Diego due to a shoulder injury suffered in a practice crash. JGRMX’s Josh Grant is also out as he recovers from a shoulder injury suffered in Phoenix.

In the 250SX Class, co-points leader Jason Anderson bumped Dean Wilson from the number one spot with a 47.562 in the closing stages of the second and final timed practice session. Wilson’s teammate Justin Hill finished third with Malcolm Stewart and Cole Seely rounding out the top five.

Race coverage gets underway on FOX Sports 1 at 10:30 p.m. ET. As always, you can also watch live coverage via the FOX Sports Go app.
