Kyle Busch held on to win for the 10th time in Xfinity Series competition Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway. It also was Busch’s 98th career Xfinity win.

Overcoming a bad starting draw (28th) and then being pushed back from the front of the pack in the first stage due to a speeding penalty, Busch beat Austin Cindric, snapping Cindric’s two-race winning streak, and Chase Briscoe to the finish line for his second Xfinity win in four starts this season.

“The car was better than the rest,” Busch told NBCSN. “We got a great restart at the end and were able to bring it home for the boys and everybody at Joe Gibbs Racing.”

Busch’s win doubles the previous career wins mark in the Xfinity Series of 49 wins, held by NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin.

Busch has said he plans on stopping competing in the Xfinity Series once he reaches that milestone unless car owner Joe Gibbs needs him to run some races.

“I’m happy to finish up the last few in the Xfinity Series,” he said.

Busch has one more Xfinity Series race he can run under NASCAR’s rules. He said he was not sure what race that will be.

Justin Allgaier, who won both stages but remains winless this season, finished fourth. Harrison Burton finished fifth.

STAGE 1 WINNER: Justin Allgaier (sixth stage win of season)

STAGE 2 WINNER: Justin Allgaier (seventh stage win of season)

WHO HAD A GOOD RACE: Austin Cindric came less than one second from winning his third consective race. He won both races of the Xfinity doubleheader last weekend at Kentucky.

WHO HAD A BAD RACE: Riley Herbst’s day ended early after he appeared to be tapped from behind by Noah Gragson on Lap 5 and slammed into the outside wall. Gragson denied over his team radio that he made contact. Herbst finished last in the 37-car field.

NOTABLE: Temperatures in cars were as high as 145 degrees at the end of Stage 1. “I wouldn’t say it was unbearable by any means,” Chase Briscoe said. “I’m hoping it’s even hotter than this next week at Kansas.”

WHAT’S NEXT: July 25, Kansas Lottery 250 at Kansas Speedway, 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
